    • Interstate 405

Dave Canales knows a lot about Seattle as he preps for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. The Seattle Seahawks were the grand home of Canales for 13 consecutive years. He would instill flashing positivity with the likes of Geno Smith and Russell Wilson for as many years Canales was quarterbacks coach.

Interstate 405 brings back a lot of nostalgia and good memories for coach Canales. Heading into Seattle vs. Carolina, the Panthers hold a stake at clinching the NFC South division title for the first time since seven years ago.

Canales learnt frequently from head coach at the time, Pete Carroll. The biggest thing was simply to juggle time and compete. Whether it be marrying the pass with the run or taking care of the ball, the team primarily goes out with a conscience of toughness to win games.

That is how Canales learned in his native California. He learned mainly through respect and being an assistant strength coach and video assistant, the proper way.

And now, Canales, 44, decides to take the Interstate 405 route to Seattle— what is an anticipating matchup— for him and OC Brad Idzik who had experience in Seattle, with the wives included.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, meanwhile, are just one loss away from their playoff exit as they play the struggling Dolphins, and, Carolina Panthers so who basically knows what Canales has up his sleeve.

    • It is Gunnar Henderson’s Time to Prove

Gunnar Henderson is a former 2019 second-round, 42nd overall pick out of Alabama. He has the five-star making tools of an everyday shortstop.

He has recently come out and said that Henderson will be participating in his first-ever Team USA World Baseball Classic which seems to get better by the year. Last time, it came down to the final out between Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.

Trout, as ruthlessly hard he worked, struck out in the waning seconds of the 2023 World Baseball Classic, between Japan. This year is a new collection of talent other than Trout.

Henderson has grown leaps and bounds by becoming AL Rookie of the Year and 2024 MLB All-Star. Last year, was not so much the Baltimore Oriole’s year and how could they be blamed with the reconstruction of Camden Yards, Corbin Burnes, and injuries.

(I really feel like Burnes was the devil of all stingers).

But, look what Baltimore did to set themselves up for 2026, ‘27, ‘28. They acquired Shane Baz!

Baz is the type of leader with a high-enough ceiling to his resume to catapult— the Orioles successes at sealing or delivering. Baz adds to the starting rotation of Trevor Rodgers and Kyle Bradish to vigorously compete with his average pitching velocities tapping out to league averages.

Most of all, eyes will be on Gunnar Henderson to prove what he is capable of March and into three years under team control.

    • Audi Crooks Chasing History

Audi Crooks is chasing history as a 6-foot-3 center out of Iowa State. She has the potential to do wonders.

She is a 2025-All American that recently tied Caitlin Clark’s Iowa record for 37+ points accounted four times in a single season. She has been working with two penetrating scorers on Iowa State’s offense and shooting the ball back up.

There is no proper back up for Crooks. She currently leads the nation in scoring and has scored in double figures 79 consecutive times.

Crooks deserves merit to her credit as she continues to lead Iowa St. 10th in the nation.

    • Remembering Greg Biffle

Greg Biffle, one of NASCAR’s 75 greatest drivers, passed away Thursday in a plane crash. It was not immediately known why the plane crashed.

Best known for his No.16 Ford, Biffle started his career winning the 2000 Truck and 2002 Xfinity series. After winning the Homestewd series three times, he would go down to eventual favorite Tony Stewart.

No matter what, Biffle went down as a two-time NASCAR series champion with 19 career wins. Even off the race track, he would aid to the North Carolina hurricane relief effort and give back to those that suffered.

    • Buy or Sell: Adolis Garcia

Adolis Garcia, last season, batted .227, 19 home runs and 75 RBI. It was a go-figure after missing back-to-back World Series with Bruce Bochy.

Although, Garcia was a primed hitter once in his career and grew a huge impact in Texas. Garcia is now a Philadelphia Phillie and what is the main reason?

Less cash? Better defense? Hopes he outwits Nick Castellanos?

None of that matters. What does is his ability to play the everyday position or compete highly with prospect Justin Crawford. Crawford hit a record best .863 OPS in the minors last year.

Season odds are he will win out the position and finally put this distaste to a restful end in right field. He will have a chance to work with the 40-man roster in spring training to decide the outcome.
